Congratulations on your timeless choice!
Let’s look at White Diamond Basics, so there are four factors to take into consideration, they are: Cut, Colour, Clarity and Carat. Cut is our personal favourite so we’ll start there.
Cut:
Cut describes two aspects of your diamond firstly the shape of your diamond. Secondly how well the diamond is cut in that shape. Unfortunately the cut is one feature all too often over looked. It is the quality of the cut that makes the difference between a dull and lifeless diamond and a diamond that is alive with remarkable fire and brilliance! At Rivers we recommend Eternity Cut Diamonds, stones cut to exacting mathematical proportions ensuring maximum fire and brilliance. The Pinnacle of the finely cut Eternity Round Brilliant Cut Diamonds is Eternity Hearts and Arrows, so precise when viewed through a hearts and arrows viewer you can make out perfect hearts and on the other side perfect arrows!

Colour:
A Diamond’s Colour is determined on a colour scale ranging from D (colourless) through to Z (yellow or brown) At Rivers Jewellers we are happy to accommodate whichever colour you prefer. From Colourless to Chocolate the choice is yours.
Clarity:
This refers to the number and size of the natural imperfections in a diamond. These may be internal (inclusions) or external (blemishes) the few inclusions in a diamond the rarer and more valuable the gem.
Carat Weight:
Everyone’s favourite category! A diamond’s weight is measured in carats. One carat can be divided into 100 points, Therefore a diamond weighing one quarter of a carat can also be referred as being 25 points.
